Welcome to MasterForge. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MasterForge website, applications, and audio mastering services ("Services") provided by Sunrise Software Oy ("we", "us", "our", "Company").
MasterForge provides audio mastering and restoration tools. Some of them run entirely in your web browser, and some run on our servers. Which one applies depends on the tool you choose, and we tell you which is which. Our Services include:
This is the most important thing to understand about our Services, so we state it plainly.
Browser-based tools. The free mastering tools, the analysis tools and Pro Master run entirely inside your web browser, using your own device. Your audio file is never sent to us. We cannot access it, store it or listen to it, and processing speed depends on your device.
Server-based services. Pro Analysis, Preparation, Auto-Master, the managed mastering service and the API work differently, because they cannot work any other way. When you use one of these, you upload your audio to us and it is processed on our servers. In practice this means:
You choose which kind of tool to use. Nothing is uploaded without you starting a server-based job. Section 5.1 of our Privacy Policy lists every provider involved and where each one operates.

We may ask you to confirm your email address before your account becomes usable.
If you create an API key, you are responsible for keeping it secret and for everything done with it. A key is shown once when you create it and is stored by us only as a cryptographic fingerprint, so we cannot recover it for you. You can revoke a key at any time from your account page, and revocation takes effect immediately.
You can delete your account yourself from your account page. Doing so cancels any active subscription, ends your access, removes your personal data and forfeits any remaining credits, which are not refunded. Records we are required to keep for accounting purposes are retained without your name or email attached to them. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy explains exactly what is kept and for how long.
You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes. You must not:
You retain all ownership rights to audio files you process using our Services. We do not claim any ownership over your content, and we do not use your audio to train models or improve our algorithms.
When you use a browser-based tool, we never have access to your audio at all. When you use a server-based service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that file for the sole purpose of delivering the result you asked for. That licence ends when the file is deleted, and it covers nothing else.
The Services, including all software, algorithms, presets, designs, text, graphics, and other content, are owned by Sunrise Software Oy and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.
We offer both free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions provide access to additional features, presets, and capabilities.
Server-based services are paid for with credits rather than by subscription, because each run occupies our hardware. Credits can be bought in packs, and a Pro subscription also includes a monthly allowance of them. The allowance does not accumulate from month to month; purchased credits do not expire while your account is open. The credit cost of each service is shown before you start a run.
The managed mastering service is priced per track and is described on its own page.
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payment is processed through our payment provider (Stripe). By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.
We reserve the right to modify pricing. You will be notified of any price changes at least 30 days before they take effect.
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We may:

Audio mastering is subjective. Results may vary based on source material and personal preferences.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sunrise Software Oy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Services.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sunrise Software Oy from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Services. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Finland, unless mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
